Was it the LPG system by any chance?

Who are the Insurers?

Were they aware of the LPG conversion

Police said it was some wires, but not LPG
Insurer - Ageas
Yes he told them when he was buying the policy

They are getting a bit strange now. I asked them to send us the final offer and they told me they did. The letter arrived a week later saying that they accepted our complaint and will investigate within 8 weeks?????? investigate what? in the previous letter we said he did not accept an offer as he got an independent engineer's valuation which states that the car is worth twice of the offer. Its not including the 8% interest, inconvenience and financial loss....
