Pay & display free on Sundays
Options
I recently got a parking ticket for parking on a street without a ticket visible. This occurred on a Sunday which I always assumed was free (plus on the ticket machine is says to pay Monday to Saturday within a certain time). Am I wrong? Or should I pay the fine? Any help would be very appreciated!
Thanks

If this is a council ticket, you should take it over to Pepipoo, read the info threads and post all the info they ask for.
If its a private ticket, get yourself into the Parking Tickets Forum and read the Newbies sticky carefully to see the various options.0 -
Check what exactly the machine says along with any signs.
Our local machines have something like Mon-Sat 8-8 prices...... At all other times £1.50. So sunday parking is picked up in the all other times aspect for a flat fee.0 -
I had this in Bristol recently - the machine had Mon-Sat prices but no mention of Sunday and no "all other times" mentioned. I ended up calling parking services as the number was on the machine as I noticed several cars were paying and displaying. They confirmed there was no charge on Sundays.
I don't know if the poor wording was deliberate to catch out visitors or just lack of thought.
I'd go back and check the sign carefully and if no mention of Sunday or all other times take a photo of the sign then appeal it.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Some require a ticket to be taken even though its free to park. Any excuse....0
