Googler is an estate agent who always pops up to tell us what good value traditional agents are and how poor the service of any online agent is.Je suis sabot...0 -
Well, I'm guessing I had a duff agent..
He was very 'obvious' in his description of the house - here is the lounge .. there's the fireplace.. this is the kitchen.. look there are windows..
I personalised it - couple 2 were childless - and professionals- i talked abotu the easy commute to town, the local bars, the good transport links... how we had entertained..
Couple 2 - were a young family, I talked about how great it was to live within walking distance of the shops, how you could easily surive without a car, how good the school was, the comunity feel of the school, the local park - and generally what a lovely area for family's the house is..
so 'different ' sales to different people - with personal knowledge. I also - pointed out the original features, - new double glazed sash - for example (EA - 'windows'.. not quite the same?).. explained about the 'quality' of the kitchen (Induction hob.. granite.. neff appliences.. the EA 'didnt'...) I talked about the house being spacious, adaptable, and somewhere I was very sad to leave (I am sad to leave the house is lovely.. but I need to be nearer to work..)
So - my 'personal' touch - was FAR better than the EA.. who lacked 'inside knowledge'.. if you see what i mena..
but as I say perhaps I had a duff agent? He did say 'this house will sell itself'.. and maybe it did? but house prices around here have gone mental - and supply is limited..0 -

They have Sir Ian Botham heading up their advertising and recommending them. With his expertise in property sales, what more could you want?
It really wouldn't be cricket to quibble over details like that.

Others in these forums have taken issue with EEA's 'price low and ask for offers over' tactics.

I tried using an online EA a couple of years ago. They got me good offers fairly quickly, I accepted one of these. However, the online EA could not hold the chain together, in my view because they did not have a high street office, so it fell through.
I would not use one again, I would prefer to pay more and get someone with a high street office who is there to keep on top of the chain.0 -
As a potential buyer of one of their properties, I am dissappointed with EEA service. Three phone calls and an email, 5 days on and I am still waiting on a simple email home report.0

Express Estate Agency is the worst EA I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.0
