Wanting to pay off our credit cards

Most card providers allow you to do a balance transfer to a card in someone else's name providing it is not with the same card issuer.
Usually when you do a balance transfer they only ask for the 16 digit number and the amount to transfer not the account holders name.
If the eligibility checker suggests a reasonable chance of your wife being accepted for MBNA then that would be a good card to try. Its for 29months and a 2.89% fee. You could transfer both of your Barclaycards, subject to the credit limit offered, and then just pay minimum on that and focus on paying off your existing MBNA (MBNA anecdotally generally give quite high credit limits).
Another one to possibly try would be lloyds - 24m at 1.5% fee.
If she gets a 0% balance transfer card then advise her not to put any new purchases on it.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
ah, Barclaycard and MBNA were precisely Not who i wanted you to reply with. ime they are the best cards for Balance Transfers.
i think i would be inclined to focus on clearing the MBNA balance and then asking them for a BT deal.0 -
Thanks for the advice everyone, I think we'll attempt to find a 0% BT for the big barclaycard soon. Failing that we'll look at a loan.
I will also prioritise repaying MBNA by increasing the monthly payments to above the minimum to pay that card off first.Overall Goal: Debt Free by 2019:Amount remaining to pay off: £36415
Total Debt on Jan 1st 2016 £36415Amount paid off so far: £00
