Can anyone tell me where I can view my credit report for free? I am currently paying around 12 pound a month, I don't even look at it every month!!

Noddle is a free service and uses CallCredit, sign up there without the extras for a free monthly report.
  • Is it as detailed as credit expert?

It depends who you have accounts with. Most lenders report to Credit Expert (Experian), not quite so many do to Noddle (Call Credit). Personally all my accounts are on Noddle. You may as well sign up to noddle and have a look anyway as it is a free service.

As others have said, Noddle is free. But would be prudent to get your £2 statutory reports from Experian and Equifax once a year (although only order the one from the 'other' CRA to the one you are currently spending £12/month on).

You can get Experian and Equifax statutory reports online for £2 ordering as and when you want to see them.

I see no point in looking at your files every month unless you have been a recent victim of identity theft, one or two times a year is suffice.
All that glitters is not gold.
  • Hi,

Why on earth are there three different credit agencies?! Surely there should be a single standard, but why isn't there? At this rate I need to have three accounts to ensure all 'accounts' are covered.

I already begrudge paying to see my own credit file, but to have to pay two and hold three accounts, it's rather frustrating and seems a little like a racket.

    Thoughts, info?

    Thanks,
    Adam.

Why do you need to keep such a close eye on your credit report? Just check it every few months (at 2 x £2 = £4 every 3 or 4 months), or don't even bother at all unless you have a specific reason to.

My question was why are there three agencies and I was asking as a part of my annual check.

My question is fair because if I have credit with, say, Call Credit, but only check Experian, I will be unaware of that, especially if I fail a credit check for some reason.

As to my reasons, well they are my own and affordability is not an issue. The question stands, so if you know answer, please do say, if not, then there's no need for a further reply.

    Thanks,

They are private companies that provide credit reports and other solutions to lenders, that is why there is 3, they aren't going to close 2 private companies down.
