Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in. Everyone is welcome here.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.
Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:
Green - within budget
Red - over budget
Purple - zero spend
Orange - made money over the week
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.
Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her:

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x"

Finding it difficult to pin down this weeks spends as I need to get a few things in for the holiday coming up soon.
Found a next card in a drawer, think I got it for my birthday a year ago! Can't rem if I've spent any of it and feel slightly sick and cross with self as it's from my folks and worth £50:eek::eek:. I'm going to take it to town tomorrow and hope it's not ood:( I think it's ridiculous these things expire after 12 months!
Back to the spends. I'm going to say £50max for this wk.Busymumofthreeplusdog......

I've got £8.60 in my purse so that's my budget for the week. Not sure if I'll manage it as the kids are still off on their Easter Holidays. May have to add another £10 to the budget so will say £18.60 to be on the safe side!Grocery Challenge 2024

Afternoon everyone.
Well baba is a lot better, thankfully. Not sure how this week will pan out as hubby is still off but there's not much money left in the joint acc so will have to be paying for stuff out if our spends.
Will set £20 for spends and £20 for grocery top up.
Sun - grocery shop (pizzas for tea and beer to take to my parents) £16
Mon - supposed to be a NSD but decided I needed salad for lunch. So took this from my spends money - £8
Tues - NSD
Weds - Taking baba to a little farm. May buy us all a little treat. £10
Thurs - NSD
Fri - NSD
Sat - newspaper

Hi all
Managed a NSD day today. I was sorely tempted to walk to the garage because a) I wanted chocolate and b) the weather was lovely but I reminded myself that I'm trying to save up £300 and managed to avoid temptation.0 -
