Does anyone know if people in the forces are able to rent their house under a normal mortgage or have to swap to a buy to let?
My circumstances have changed and now want to rent my house out (not posted anywhere near it).

I imagine you would need to speak to your mortgage lender about that.
Also remember if you have LSAP, you need to let them know.0 -
Yes, ask about Consent to Let.
Its a question for your Mortgage Provider.0 -
Halifax allowed us to let our home and keep the residential mortgage which was cheaper than buy to let. If you tell the mortgage lender you are forces and it is your only property they might look favourably on it.Started comping February 2012

Natwest will allow an immediate consent to let for £100 and Nationwide are also quite good.
To be fair you are probably better off seeing a good mortgage broker because the list is not exhaustive.Grab life by the balls before it grabs you by the neck.0
