HSBC has now entered a defence

Hi everyone!

Having ackknowledged my claim of over £2,000, HSBC have now entered a defence just before the time was up. On claim line in says:-

"You are unable to take any further action online on this claim.

The Defendant disputes the whole amount you have claimed. Your claim cannot proceed online and will be transferred to the appropriate court for continuation. You will receive confirmation to where the claim has been transferred to shortly."

I am just wondering how likely it is for this actually to go to court now or whether they are still likely to make me an offer? Does anyone have experience of this situation with HSBC? Or should I ring them and try to negotiate?

Also, if it does go to court I will be unable to attend as I am going travelling in 5 weeks time!! Will I be able to request that someone else defends my claim?

Any advice would be very much appreciated – we could really do with the extra cash!

There is always time for them to make an offer, or for you to take the initiative and try to negotiate a settlement.

It would certainly be a good idea to let the court know when you will be away. All are busy, some more than others, and I am sure that they would appreciate the courtesy.

    Hi

I had exaxtly the same message on my claim, the next day HSBC wrote and made an offer, £2000 less than i wanted, but going to accept as not sure i want to be going through some of the things others have had to go through with court bundles etc. Could have got more im sure, but delighted with £3500 they offered.

Hang in there, you will get there in the end, just wish i had nerve to carry on and fight for more money, but all over now, Thankfully!!!!

    Good Luck
