Can anyone recommend anywhere best to park for a concert at the arena.Dont mind a bit of a walk to try and bypass the bulk of the traffic from the arena and save costs.x

There are lots of places to park for free, just a stones walk from the stadium.
Look at this map https://goo.gl/maps/lYiNI
Go down Lower Parliament st (its one way) the arena is just before the Crown inn. Turn left onto Pennyfoot St. (Machine mart on corner) First right onto Plough Ln. There is an open air car park on the corner. It is run by a private company with a ticket machine. As they have no right to issue penalties for non payment just park there and don't pay. I park there all the time and probably have 6 tickets. I get the usual threatening letters then they fade away after about 6 months!!The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Park at Nottingham railway station
£4 all day after 10am
About a five minute walk away, have a drink at Hooters on your way past lol0 -
Where are you coming into Nottingham from? L_J's suggestion is a good one, or if you're coming in from the other side you can park on the Forest and get the tram - a good way to avoid the traffic, especially if there is a football match on that night. It is £2 return each, or you can get a family ticket for £5.0

What time are you looking at getting there?Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -

Just to add that if you do want to pay there are a few Polish car washes near that let you park for £3, and there is parking available for £3 at the old fruit market, which is a minutes walk from the arena. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. Thank you for your advice..we should be arriving about 7pm and coming in from the north (Doncaster.)0

if you want to avoid driving through the city centre/around the arena area altogether, you could park your car at Phoenix Park or Wilkinson Street tram park and ride, then take the tram into the centre (get off at Lace Market/Fletchergate for the Arena).
Here is the tram timetable -

and heres a map of the city centre area -

There are some on road parking bays on Canal Street (on the left, as you are driving from the roundabout towards the Bus Station), pay at the meter on the street, I think they are free after either 6pm or 8pm :-) We often park in one of them, go into town for some tea and then wander to the arena. Happy to pay a £1 or so for the easy exit afterwards.0
