Hi all,
I'm looking to do my basic food hygiene certificate, Google throws up a lot of sites that offer this online (2-3hours training then a test) Has anybody any experience of using these?
Thanks

Hi OP,
It is now Food Safety, not Food Hygiene so you will need to look for a Food Safety Course; in my experience they are 6 hours of learning and a test.
If you are struggling to find a provider, contact environmental health at your local authority, who should have information and possibly a list of local accredited providers.0 -
Virtual College is the site my company use for our Food certs0

This sounds quite interesting.
Is the whole of the course and test done online? I had thought about reselling food products I had made but I thought it would be days of going on a course in a kitchen with some kind of exam at the end and someone from the council checking you were doing it right or something0 -
If I were you, I'd contact your local authority first. Ours demand pre-registration of premises and adherence to personal Food Safety as a matter of course. Online doesn't come into it and it's always better to be on the right side of the regulators before you have a problem.0
