I have a glitch on our laptop, definitely derived from DD and DS downloading games etc. When I open browser there is a 'download manager' box (iLivid) and wen I search it opens a ew browser with a download/ Have tried control panel to uninstall but there doesn't appear to be anything related. At present time I am writing this with 3 adverts one on either side and one below which although I click 'hide ad' they don't completely disappear and come back again when I go ont a different web page - if anyone has any idea of how to get rid f this - please help

No I haven't thanks - but I have uninstalled all the rubbish in the control panel - I'll give this a go
Haven't used this laptop in a while as had my work laptop but we're not permitted to use the internet (even if off server) due to the latest threat! Didn't realise what a mess the kids had got it into!! 0 -
I have ran both cleaners suggested and the problem is still there!! most frustrating. Any more suggestions?0

Try Malwarebytes-quick scan, then full scan if it finds anything. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thanks folks - had googled iLivid and it appears to be a virus. I had malware installed anyway - ran the full scan and removed everything it found and hey presto no more ads!! Think I have got the laptop relatively trouble free - will have to speak to the kids about downloading stuff (even if the untick the add-on's would be an improvement!)0

I was told about this and im glad i put it on son's laptop as he is always downloading junk. I had to get rid of a lot of malware and one was livid,( was watching football stream)His browsers were hacked by lots of downloads and after cleaning i put this on. Even when he put on the football again, no more malware as unchecky had done its job, and no more add ones.fenlander_uk wrote: »Unchecky would probably help0
