Their reply to me after much to-ing and fro-ing was that because of the new legislation (that the alcohol can't be sold at any less than the price of alchol duty + VAT) conditional spends would (not could) make the price of spirits below that level and therefore illegal to sell.

I replied to them that the duty on alcohol refers to PURE alcohol, not the cost of what was in the bottle itself. So they were calculating the permitted price wrong.

Anyway Ive had a letter from their head office this morning which to all intents and purposes says....yes you are correct but we won't be changing our policy, have a £50 GC for your troubles

I don't even drink spirits! :rotfl::rotfl: I just got a bee in my bonnet about it

not sure if you ever knew, but the comparison is against an inferior curry and rice, where as its all curry in asda. thanks for inspiring me to find out what exactly it compares to. so I now know how many to get. (as you know I always in the past got in 2's until you told me to get 3's this time)

Good idea I bought an excessive amount of Hot Cross buns, not going into details but have used a jar & a half of jam & I'm needing more so any jam glitches would be very welcome

ahhh really? i only popped in to pick up my duvet from c&c & try & get 3V cards so missed this i did get some MaltEaster mini bunnies for 50p a bag yummm
i stocked up on squash at the weekend at a's (got 10 bottles ) can't get any more as i only have a little kitchen & too many bottles what with the free fizzy drinks in a's the other week :rotfl:

We go through at least 2 bottles of squash a week, I don't drink tea or coffee, don't like it. I keep saying that when i grow up i'll drink it, so maybe one day? :rotfl:I keep our spare bottles under my sons bed, along with dishwasher tablets and tomato ketchup.:rotfl:

Did you notice the hoarding going up for the new Sainsburys? Hopefully should get some bargains from the old one when it shuts.

Can anyone tell me what happens when you do a C&C and end up with a minus figure please, have seen it mentioned and done a search but cannot find the answer.

I did an Sada C&C yesterday for the usual v T items, as i had over £40 in online APG`s to use up, by my reckoning i also added £12.xx real money to the order which is showing as gone from my bank account, but silly me hadnt accounted for the multibuys that was not showing in my online basket so now i have only just looked at my delivery note and it is showing as a minus figure, plus i am expecting a £10.xx refund as i refused some subs and also a £20.xx APG.

Does anyone know what happens now please?
