This might be a very stupid question.......I'm going to M to do 2 large shops (need to use 2 £10 vouchers so need to spend £40/shop)

Do M offer a compare thing or not? If they do are there any buys to look for?

I never really see a M buys mentioned.....so I think they don't offer a price comparison type thing....

    TIA

Sorry for the late reply (which I've had queued up in my 'to do's). No they don't do a price comparison. When I was doing those Morries price collections, I did have a 'buy in M' list as part of my big M list or sometimes as standalone, consisting of items available in neither A nor T.

If you have £10 off £40 in M though, that is more than 10% so may as well get M's special offers without bothering with the 'loss' compared to hypothetically buying them in A and comparing vs M.

The "Savvy buys" on msm are quite good for Morries at the mo. IMO.

Some of the items I'd go for would be:

Mix and match of fruit/veg. on the 3 for £1.50 offer, as that is unlikely to compare correctly on the APG:

    E.g. 1x Salad Tomatoes 6 pack
    1x 1kg Carrots
    1x Spring Greens

    Works out at 50p each.

Maybe 2x Onions pack and 1x Parsnips pack (3 for £1.50).
That's £3 done. Quite a challenge to reach £40 actually when you're trying to buy the best value and not adding up quickly!

Cadbury Hot Caramel Sponge Puddings (2 pack) at £1, as they would be T £1 vs M £1 and thus not helping much. Indeed, any Tvs M items as they would merely be price-match from T (ignoring any cond spends you have for use there, a few CC points and MOCs). Oo - Caramel Hot Chocolate Sponge Pudding now appears to be T £2 and M £1 so that's onto Tvs M (or buy straight in M).

One of those, we're on £4.

Flowers are usually quite cheap in M, compared to prices elsewhere. Obviously look around for which is the best once in M! Also may find some reduced items in the household sections (that don't come under the APG) or I'm thinking of stuff like cutlery that might be on reduction. David. will be the man to help here I'm sure!:D

Bird's Eye 10 Veg Fingers, in the frozen section, are apparently at £1. Also Upper Crust Lattice Slices 99p. Either cheese/broccoli or bacon & cheese/chicken. Or even both! I'll have a look round, on msm, and see what more I come up with at the moment.

Terry's Choc. Orange at 95p M is apparently OOS in A, so that would qualify to go onto a 'buy in M' list were I doing one. Which I may as well be doing now!:D:rotfl: 95p isn't lowest seen, but 'fairly okay' - but not a patch on T 1p choc. items.

Of course, anything on good whoopsie or good reduced price. 9p for an 800g loaf of bread is when it starts becoming 'good' for me;).

Given the difference in price (£3 x2 vs 2 for £3), I'd go for 2x Wisdom Interdental Brushes (20 pack), if needed, in M rather than risk on APG. Or may be able to find the new finer brush version(?) that isn't on msm, in M and get two of those, if 2 for £3, just so we can feel better that the versions bought wouldn't have worked in A!

Brioche Pasquier Pains au Lait Milk Brioches (8 pack) £1 M (Sainsbobs £1.75, doesn't compare to M of course!)

The Heinz beans and spaghetti fridge packs are quite good on M offer (£1) - albeit that the Spaghetti has had a recent weight reduction:( - even if the minor loss of 10p that A might give.

I'm still continuing to look around later! In the meantime, others can post their own suggestions on this forum!
