For anyone looking to purchase anything from https://www.tiptopelectronics.co.uk I have one word of advice.....DON'T
I purchased a projector from them on January 14th. The projector was faulty and had to be returned. They arranged for a courier to collect it from my house and take it back in exchange for a new one.
A couple of weeks later and nothing, I decided to call them and chase the matter. I was told that the projector had been sent back to their supplier in Singapore and denied a replacement due to the fact that it had been damaged by the customer! I was sent 6 pictures of the damaged unit it had been hit around the lens area a good five or six times and looking at the severity of the damage most probably with a hammer.
Mr Ben Broome, director of Tip Top accepted that the damage hadn't been sustained to the unit by myself. Luckily I had taken photos before I placed in in the box to be shipped. However it sustained the damage, he or I have no idea but anyway that's none of my business I just wanted the unit replaced (which he agreed to do)
Time dragged on and every time I rang him for an update he would fob me off with rubbish just to get me off the phone until eventually he admitted that his supplier wouldn't honour a replacement and that he was not in a situation to refund my cash as the companies accounts had been frozen yet they were still taking orders of £30/40,000 per day!
Unfortunately I paid him by bank transfer so have no cover there. He is ignoring my calls and emails I have no option now but to take him to court. I have alerted citizens advice who in turn have alerted trading standards but not sure if they will take on the case.
So anyway, if you are thinking about buying from these people please be aware of the trouble that may ensue on their website they make many promises and reassurances but can't be trusted to deliver on any of them.....potential buyers Beware!!!

That would have been my early warning alarm.0 -

If a bank won't trust it's own customers to accept credit cards, then walk away0

Well as I expected.....no money from Mr Broome.
He offered to pay me an instalment (his suggestion) of £1,000 by bank transfer directly into my account. Gave it a day and he has forward absolutely nothing.
Emailed him....no reply
Phoned him....no reply
Left voicemail for him to contact me....no reply
Shall try again tomorrow and see what gives.0 -
I bought a well priced Canon XF305 camera from them - plus an extra lithium battery which has never arrived. A great deal on the camera - but lost £184.00 on the battery. They admit by email they didn't send the battery. They keep saying they will refund me the money. I have an email trail the length of my two arms dating back to March 2014. But no refund.
Very nice on the phone - but I won't do business with them. I prefer to go to Prokit in West London. Some of their prices are better, cheaper and you get service.0
