Does anyone have experience of this company for purchasing refurb desktops?
http://www.refurbthat.com/
I'm seeking a W7 basic desktop replacement for a neighbour and looking at one of the Dell Optiplexes.
Obviously can get them cheaper on eBay, but what attracts me on these are the 12m warranties rather than the usual 90 days on refurbs.

Web Of Trust throws up an untrustworthy site warning for refurbthat . On that basis alone I would look elsewhere !0

They seem fairly expensive for core2duo, but then that could be because of the warranty. I guess any warranty work they just use stripped parts so cheap for them to offer.
Looks like a genuine company

Based on how many reviews? 1 out of 1?
Edit: At least they're listed here: http://www.microsoft.com/refurbishedpcs/Directory.aspx
Every company started at some point. The one bad review on WOT could be from a competitor...0 -
I've used Refurb That to buy 4 PCs and a laptop over the last few years, and I have always found them to be efficient and prompt. Very good value. You will have to buy and install Microsoft Office separately, but at least you can buy that 2nd hand as well through Amazon or wherever.0

I would suggest you look at Microdream, who always have a good selection of second-hand Optiplex system units. Check whether you need to upgrade the indicated memory or hard disk size...0

Looking at the prices they're charging, why not check out digp's thread (with the poll)? The options shown there are NEW computers at similar price levels.0

I've always found Optiplexes being worth the premium over Brand X, not new (wickedly expensive from Dell) but second-hand.0

how about trying gumtree i got a 2nd hand laptop for about £100 in good working order it is slow but its not bad for a budget spec really, but be aware i had to replace the motherboard as the power jack was very loose the jack came out and fried the board, i did mange to buy another motherboard and its been fine ever since its a manufacturer design flaw nothing to do with out it has been used.
But with anything in life its your choice to buy second hand, if you do this i would take a dvd that has a video on it to test the performance to see if it overheats or has any problems with video and/or speakers.
always make sure you ask them what make and model it is so you can check out its spec on the internet, provided that no parts has been changed inside. My Signature is MY OWN!!0
