Travelodge Woes.

I booked a Saver room at Travelodge for tonight including breakfast. Having had a heart attack on Monday and recovering I am not able to travel.

I realise that the Saver Room is not refundable because I did not take out insurance but have only just realised now that the cost of breakfast is not refundable either.

Surely, if I do not eat the food, it is not a loss to Travelodge and could be classified as an unfair term in their terms and conditions.

Anything I can do please. I have emailed them and asked for a good will gesture but I'm not holding my breath. x
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

They don't usually issue breakfast refunds, but under the circumstances, they might make a goodwill gesture. As you ordered breakfast as part of the deal, not sure how they will view it, though.

    Can't hurt to ask, though.

It could be considered a loss to travelodge. They may have ordered amounts based on numbers, who knows.

It would be goodwill if they refunded, the room and breakfast is still there for you, they have kept their side of the bargain.

Sorry to hear about the heart attack.

You really should be concentrating on recovering, rather than chasing a possible refund, which probably won't happen.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Thanks for your input, not really bothered but worth a punt. I am recovering pretty well, out walking twice today and some fresh air has done me the world of good x

You can try and send them an e-mail explaining about the situation. They might offer you to use the room in the future.

It costs about £1 to put a breakfast together, they are entitled to the profit from it so you are only entitled to the cost of the ingredients, not the full price.

By the same token you're not muckying up the sheets or bathroom..... so they can pay the cleaner less and there's less laundry.

    It won't happen though ....

No idea about the refund McKneff, but sorry to hear about the heart attack. Hope you're recovering well.

Well that's just simply not true and is completely backward. What they are entitled to is their losses, not profit. That's very basic contract law.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.
