Vaisakhi in London 2014 4th May Trafalgar Square celebrating Sikh formation day

Vaisakhi in London 2014 4th May Trafalgar Square
This is a FREE, family day out featuring contemporary and traditional Asian music, dance, DJ sets and fun activities for children.
This is in conjunction with cultural events held in the square to celebrate diversity of different cultures of the world.
What is Vaisakhi
Vaisakhi has two aspects cultural and Religious
-The cultural aspect is the celebration of harvesting. During this time people of India celebrate the all the hard work farmers have put in by singing and dancing. In Punjab they do the traditional Bhangra that has taken craze here with non Punjabis.
-The religious aspect came in 1699 when the 10th Guru of Sikhs formed a special initiation ceremony which we have come to know today. Read more about this in the link below
Come and join the celebration of the Sikh . The event will start with religious aspect and then cultural music.
You will find out more about the Sikh way of life and how it assimilates others in their celebration.
When 4th May 2014 Normally starts 11am to 5pm
Where Trafalgar Square London WC2N 5DN.
Please note there will be no Drink, smoking, meat be served or allowed at the time of function

You are right the actual date has passed on 14th Apr but the event despite being booked in advance it was the slot available I suppose. Also knowing that Vasakhi is on 14th did you go to any local Sikh Temple to see how it is actually celebrated. There are processions throughout the month all over the world including UK. There is one on 20th in Sedgley Street Wolverhampton if you are near in the afternoon enjoy it.0 -

thanks for updation. Unfortunately, I missed it.. However, I got to know that it will be celebrated on 4th of May in trafalgar square (London). I will try to make it there.0
