My family and I would like some advise please..
We have lived in our 3 bed housing association for nearly 3 years, it was built in the 70's and is breeze block and rendered not sure if it is timber frame or not :-/ The house has problems coming from the loft we think, the mould, damp near windows and ladybirds (random) is VERY off putting. Upstairs in the bedrooms are the worst areas but there is damp and mould downstairs too. Work men have been and tried to cover up the problems with sprays etc he wasn't happy doing it and said this is a case for environmental health! My questions are - in a couple of weeks, I have one of the main guys from Orbit coming to view the problems. My husband will be at work, and I really don't want to be fobbed off. I would like to know the best questions to ask him and really what to say! Ideally if things were to go our way we would love a transfer. Thanks in advance Jennie

Unless the problems make the house uninhabitable you will not get moved. HA's are generally pretty slow to fix problems like this so you need to keep pushing them.
In the meantime you could purchase a dehumidifier which would help with the mold and damp.
If you wanted a transfer you could find one yourself but it would mean finding someone willing to take on the property with the problems you describe0 -
Housing associations have a published complaints proceedure for dealing with tenancy issues. Orbit are no exception:

Have a read through and simply follow the proceedure.0 -
I have a de-humidifier and it's quite large! I can fill the drawer in half a day just from my daughters room, it's so expensive to run..:( it all feels a bit hopeless and I am a positive person. Sad times...0
