Hello
I have recently bought a new car and the 18 inch alloy wheels were pristine on arrival. I have had a few scrapes with the kerb and now the scratches (minor) are annoying me.
Does anyone know where I can get a good deal in London to get these repaired?
Cheers

I would try and do that yourself if they are minor, I expect motoring places would sell kits.No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023

Chips Away charged us £40 per wheel for 19" alloys. We'd asked them to look at all 4, but they said one of them wasn't badly enough scratched, which was good of them.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0

Did they come to you for £40 a wheel? If so that is a really good price. I've heard good things about the Chips Away franchisees.0

Yes - they need a driveway to work on (ie, they won't work at the side of the road, for obvious reasons), but they came to us. We were very impressed. No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0

I suppose at London rip off prices £40 for a temporary touch up is about right, another tenner and you're into full refurb territory, which is long term.0

Agreed, it's very easy to do. Here is a quick DIY guide that I used when I did mine.

A man in a van is at best only going to paint and bake them and they will look good for a while. If the damage is not too bad you could try this yourself.
A refurbishment is something else. I use a man in a shed in Crewe with lots of serious spray kit and ovens but he is £70 a wheel.0 -
The just compress the tyre off the bead, then paint the face of the wheel.
If you want it all doing, then the tyre needs to come off and that pushes the costs up.0
