Hi there, I hope I'm posting in the correct section!
I purchased a large photo frame on 01/04. I didn't take it out of it's packaging until today but when I did I noticed the glass had a big mark along it. I took the glass out and polished both sides but the mark seems to be inside the glass (if that makes sense, inside the layers).
I took the frame back to the shop but I had already disposed of my receipt. I didn't want a refund, just an exchange.
The shop assistant agreed that it was a manufacturers error and a few people had returned similar frames with the same problem. She was nice as pie until I told her I didn't have my receipt! As soon as I mentioned that she said there was nothing she could do, couldn't provide me with an exchange even though I had all the packaging with me which clearly shows it was purchased from that shop.
Typically I paid cash that day too!
Are they obliged to exchange the product or do I just have to grin and bear it having spent £20 on a photo frame which I can't put a picture in without having a big mark across the front of it!
Many thanks

You do not need a receipt if the item purchased is faulty.0
