TV Switching off

Hi
I have an LG 32 LN575V bought in November 2013.Very pleased with the tv. One odd thing happens, the tv sometimes switches itself off.

I have the tv connected to a surge protector extension lead along with Sky box and sound bar. Nothing else switches off, only the tv. This has happened three times so far. Any ideas?

    straight from the manual

❐❐To set the TV to turn on and off automatically
    SMART ➾ Settings ➙ TIME ➙ On Time/Off Time
    Sets On/Off time.
Select Off on Repeat to discontinue On Time/Off Time.
✎✎To use On Time/Off Time, set the current time correctly.
✎✎Even when the On Time function is on, the TV will turn off automatically in
120 minutes when no button is pressed within that time.

Sorry I should have said I have the clock off
  • It could be one of many things causing it, anything from a dodgy solder joint to a component on a PCB failing when it heats up.

As the TV is so new, you could contact the retailer you bought it from and ask them to attempt a repair or you could go directly to LG and ask them to look into it under their warranty.
It might not be too bad at the moment but you'll kick yourself if you ignore it and then it totally packs up when the warranty has expired.

Lots of newer TV's have a 'very clever' energy saving technique - they switch themselves off after a certain time without receiving any instructions from the remote control. Does this apply to you, before you embarass yourself in front of a repair man? Have a look in Energy Saving, Eco or similar menu, under Auto Off or similar.

Yes I know there are what they call eco saving features, but I have all these off.

It does not switch off all the time.
