Software for NEC ND-3520A rewriter

I've decided to treat myself to this after seeing all the good reviews here.
Can any of you recommend suitable software, as there doesn't seem to be a huge price difference between the ones on offer.I was going to buy the rewriter from ebuyer. I don't understand the techie terms on the product descriptions. I just want to burn DVDs

NERO Burning ROM is widely regarded as the best there is and has extra plugins for just about anything fancy you, er, might fancy.

Alcohol 120% is another great application. That and Nero generally challenge for the top spot. I think Alcohol 120% is cheaper though.

Alcohol is aimed at making 'backups', Nero allows you to do data discs, photoCD's, audio compilations and much more.

Asssuming you want to create your own video DVD's, then many of the video editing packages have basic DVD burning built in.

ive got the previous nec model and i am really happy with it i use nero6 to burn dvds and cds but to make backups i use alcohol and dvdshrink(free) and also dvd decryptor(free) for the free programs use google
