Parking Eye PCN St James Retail Park Northampton

Hello from a newbie (please be gentle with me)
I've spent a couple of hours trawling threads and I'd just like to clarify a couple of things before I proceed with my appeal.
The story: Today my husband and I received PCN's issued by Parking Eye relating to the car park at St James retail park in Northampton. We visited there in our respective cars to shop for car seats and pushchairs for our impending arrival hence the double wammy of PCNs. Husband has receipts for 'his' purchases from Mothercare however as I didn't pay for anything I don't have any receipts. We're slightly bemused as we weren't aware that there was a limit to our length of stay (we probably would have foregone our second trip to Starbucks) and by the generous offer of the discounted amount if paid within 14 days of issue which leaves us with a 8 day period from date of receipt.
Do we literally just need to email the template as detailed in Coupon-mad's newbie thread and go from there? I note there is another thread (which as a new user I am unable to link to, it is entitled 'Parking Eye PCN, St James Retail Park Northampton') regarding the retail park and PCNs from Parking Eye which also has a template letter, I'm just wondering which is more appropriate.
Husband is thinking we should just pay but I quite frankly have plenty of other things that I would rather spend £100 on :rotfl:
Thank you in advance

Were the notices received through the post or attached to the vehicle?
Also, go back to the retailers and see if they can get the PCN's cancelled.0 -
Oh yes, sorry, they were received in the post!0
-
Then yes, appeal using the templates (one for each PCN).0

Thanks. Again, just to clarify should I use Coupon-mad's template or the one in the other thread relating to Private Eye at the same retail thread?
Copy and pasted:
Name
Address
Date
PCN Number 08XXXXXXX
On 19/10/13 I was the registered keeper of a XXXXXX registration number XXXXXXX.
I dispute the parking charge for the reasons set out below.
1. Genuine Estimate of Loss
The parking charge you are imposing is punitive and therefore void (i.e. unenforceable). The parking charge is arbitrary and disproportionate to any alleged breach of contract or trespass. If it is your case that that a trespass was committed or that a contract was breached such that your claim is one for damages, please give me a full breakdown of the actual loss you say was suffered by your business or the landowner/landholder.
2. Signage
The driver did not see any signs. This means that the driver was not made clear of the terms and conditions when parking in St James Retail Park car park. If you do not believe this to be the case I would ask you to send photographs of the signs that you display and upon which you seek to evidence that a lawful and legally enforceable contract was been entered into. Please ensure that the photographs show the terms and conditions in a clear and legible manner. Please can you also provide me with a diagram showing the locations and layout of those signs at the car park along with evidence that the wording is in plain and intelligible language and in sufficiently large print as to be legible to a driver at the car park’s entry point.
If you reject this appeal or fail to address the issues that have been raised then, in accordance with the BPA AOS Code of Practice 22.12, please ensure that you enclose all the required information (including the contract held between yourselves and the land owner and the necessary ‘POPLA code’) so that I may immediately refer the matter for their decision.
Yours,

It's ParkingEye. Private Eye is a weekly satirical magazine.Je suis Charlie.0

You could send that one, or the one in the Newbies sticky thread (which I prefer). They'll reject them both equally but the idea is to get a POPLA code.0

Actually it's fortnightly. You can change the title of your post. Just go to "edit" and "go advanced".What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Just wanted to post an update.
We sent our respective appeal letters (using the template in the newbies sticky thread) to Parking Eye with copies of our receipt. I received a response this morning informing that my PCN has been CANCELLED!!Husband hasn't received a reply yet but I can only hope he will receive the same letter next week.
I wanted to let you know so you can chalk up another success and to say a huge thank you for your help. It is very kind of you to devote your free time in the crusade against these private car parking companies. Thank you again x0
