cheap service to call 0844 numbers

Damn client has put me into a conference call using an 0844 number . I guess it's cheaper for them - no subscription fees, each caller pays 10p a minute using the conferencenow.co.uk company.

Just curious is it possible to get it cheaper than 10p a minute?

they dont do conferenceing that much so I guess they dont want the overhead of a subscription to a voice conferencing service.

No local rate number on say no to 0870 - I guess they would be pretty secretive about that because their busienss revolves around the 0844 number.

Cant find skype rates, was wondering how much skype would charge for the 0844.

Ask them to use powwownow instead? Same concept, looks to be 5.1p/min from a BT line for participants.

Skype is 8.7p/min to 0844.

Its the legitimate use of an 0844 number "provision of a free to use by the organiser conference service.

Calls to it are all week - 5.1p per minute and set-up cost of 15p from a BT Line other suppliers can charge more,and it can prove very expensive from a mobile.

Recommend https://www.whypay.net or similar to them where the access number is included in inclusive minutes.

well we invoiced them £1200+ looks like another £400 will be added for extra work.

I don't think it's very tactful to create a fuss over £10 worth of premium rate calls.
