Getting Credit and Store Cards

Hi,
sorry if this is in another thread but im totally new to this whole forum thing!
so ive always paid my bills on time, nothing on credit and only have a debit card cause i was taught...
if you can afford it, save and then buy it.

would it help my credit score if i did buy things on store cards and credit cards???

my ex had a great rating (better than mine) and he'd had loads of store cards and even failed to pay a few times...
whereas ive never missed any payments, bills, anything xx

Hi and welcome to the forum

When you say 'would it help my credit score', what is you main aim, what is it that you are wanting to do/planning to do?

Are you hoping to build up a credit history prior to applying for a large credit product (such as a mortgage or loan or something) or what?
