Nipping in the bud

Hi
I am in the middle of reclaiming my charges from HSBC so i set up an account with Alliance and Leicester and transferred everything over.
Due to a mistake with my wages a direct debit wasnt paid and A & L charged me £34 for the privelidge:rolleyes:.
Is there any way to nip this in the bud rather than going through the whole reclaiming process just for £34?
Any help appreciated
Thanks

Yup ring the bank and explain what happened, they may just refund it out of 'goodwill'. Failing that you can approach your wages department and get them to pay it :p

I usually advise visiting the branch in circumstances like this, as it is too easy to say no over the 'phone, but A&L branches are a bit thin on the ground.

If all else fails, you could have a valid claim against your employer.

It also might be a good idea to move any DD's away from pay dates.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

Its an even better idea to move DD's as far away from your bank account as possible. Of course I know thats not practical all the time but avoid them if you can is my advice :)
