My first ever parking ticket- should i pay up?

Hi all,
I've had a read through the stickies and advice on here (thank you for provding it)
I'm still not sure whether i should just pay the ticket.
I parked in a bay in a multi story that was reserved for customers of a casino.
It was marked, i just didn't notice until i returned to my car.
The added complication is that i was driving my husband's car, which is a company lease vehicle.
The company is 'Britannia Parking'
Any advice on how to handle this for the best would be gratefully received. i don't know if i'm brave enough to hold off paying if the reminder notices are sent to my husband's employer

I think you need to tell the parking company who was driving so that takes the pressure off your husband and his employer.
I'm sure that information is in the sticky thread for Newbies so suggest you go back and find the relevant part.
The normal advice is Do Not Pay but Do Not Ignore. All you have received is a non-enforceable speculative invoice, soi why would you pay?I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
i presume this was a windscreen ticket?
Just appeal, without waiting for the notice to keeper, as per the newbies thread.0 -
Thanks guys, just one more qestion
the appeal letter template states the basis for appeal is:
1) The amount being claimed is not a genuine pre-estimate of loss to your company or the landowner
2) Your signage does not comply with your ATA Code of Practice and was not sufficiently prominent to create any contract
3) You are not the landowner and do not have the standing to offer contracts nor to bring a claim for trespass
but their singage WAS prominent, i just didn't notice it as i was distracted and in an unfamilar place.
so should i still include that bit?0 -
Yes - it can't have been that prominent as you missed it !"The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0
-
and the ATA code of practice, how can i be sure it doesn't comply?...or am i overthinking thsi and i shoudl just shut up and send the letter0

Without wishing to sound rude - yes, you're paying to much respect to an industry that is built on lies and law breaking.
Just use the standard template for the initial appeal. You WILL win this."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -
