PE & Capita

I don’t know enough about shareholder rights etc to answer my question so thought I’d ask here to see what people think.
With all the bad press PE are getting recently including court losses (at around £500 a pop) and being kicked off sites ( Northumbria NHS trust must have been quite a blow for them) any Capita shareholder who becomes aware of all this might rightly be worried about why such an investment was made. A shareholder only needs one share in a company to have a voice so could do some lobbying of Capita for answers as to what’s going on with PE at the moment and what future plans there are, right? Could someone here buy a share and attempt to get some answers from Capita?
I am fully aware that the vast majority of PE invoices will just be paid without question so I doubt they are getting too worried about it just at the moment. There does seem to be an increasing number of people willing to do some research and challenging of their tickets though so is this an avenue worth pursuing?

So Capita part own (or fully own?) PE? I didn't know that. It's high time this fact was publicised widely. It would do Capita a world of good :rotfl:0

Capita purchased Parking Eye in late 2013 for £57.5 million.
It would be nice to be able to get some shareholders involved. The problem would be that even if the smaller shareholders got a PCN from ParkkngEye, they probably wouldn't realise that Capita (who do have a large portfolio) actually owns it.0 -
I doubt the shareholders would want to risk the reputation of the company, as this could, sorry, WILL cause a reduction to the share price.
It depends on how many shares one has invested as to how much one would be prepared to loose?NEWBIES: visit the newbie sticky thread first, then create your own thread if your scenario isn't covered.
Household and travel > Motoring > Parking tickets, fines and parking > click on 'new thread' AFTER reading the newbie sticky - IT REALLY IS EXTREMELY USEFUL :wall:0 -
But one share gets a say so what I was thinking was buy a share, give them some grief about PE and you only stand to lose a little bit if it works due to not having invested much?
I dunno, just thought it might be something to look at?0 -
Much as I admire the idea that shareholders might somehow be annoyed at Capita buying PE I'm afraid £57m is a drop in the ocean to the company. They are a very cash rich company ( they buy companies almost weekly from cash reserves and not the usual re-financing method ).
PE will either be kept as a separate limited trading company wholly owned by Capita PLC or will be merged into into another limited company within the group ( most likely Equita ).
The bad press from PE is very very minor compared to the bad press from the court translation service, TfL, many an IT debacle etc.
And remember it is only Capita PLC that people can buy shares in and most of those shares are held by either pension funds or Capita employees."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -
