Noisy cruise cabin

Hi,
My brother is currently on his honeymoon on a cruise with a well known cruise operator.
They have discovered that their cabin is directly above the nightclub and in fact that the speakers for the club are mounted on the floor of their cabin.
As a result, both music and heavy bass are pumped into the cabin until as late as 3am.
They have complained repeatedly to the guest services team on-board but have been met with general disinterest.
They may be stuck with the cabin and no sleep for the duration but can anybody advise how best to deal with the commercial aspects given that a full price has been paid for what is a terrible cruise experience.
Thanks in advance

Have they been taking videos (to show the noise levels are too loud to sleep etc)?
How was the cabin advertised?
Its not really enough to say they paid full price. It depends what they've paid full price for - cabins are priced differently and the cheaper ones will be "worse" than the more expensive ones. Likewise you can pay full price for restricted view seats at a performance but wouldnt be entitled to money back because you'd be getting what you paid for (a restricted view). You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
It's their honeymoon. They should be making their own noise
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -
it's clearly NOT an american company- my dh and I were on a cruise in October and discovered that the Jacuzzi which was 3 floors above us was emptied every night and re-filled - which took about 4 hours starting at 10.30pm and lasting until about 2.30am - whilst the jacuzzi was well above our cabin level - unfortunately the pipes were running parallel to our cabin and we were woken by the noise.
One complaint to Guest services and we were moved - two days alter a letter of apology with a 15% discount voucher arrived in our cabin
well done Royal Caribbean International for a great response - this is why we always choose US based companies to cruise with- their customer service is second to none - usually because people from the USA are used to better standards than we accept here in the UK - sorry this is not help to the OP - but I thought I would share our experience0 -
Have they spoken to others in the neighbouring cabins to see if the noise is bothering them too?
Have they asked for a specific solution I.e. A new room? An upgrade?
Have they put their complaint in writing?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
For any complaint letters to be written, it might be an idea for your brother to get an app on his phone (if he has a smartphone) which records decibels, and get photographic evidence of that showing on his phone.0
