Hubby just been offered job, what to do about Income Support?

Hi all, Hubby has just been offered a job :j , He's been out of work since the start of April and we have been claiming Income Support, Housing and Council Tax benefit since then due to me being a carer.

Hubby hasn't been given a start date yet as he is waiting for Criminal Records checks and references to be done, but he should be starting in about 3 weeks time.

When do I have to notify the Income Support office that he is back at work? Do I wait until he has actually started or inform them in advance? Also, this job is paid monthly and I'm worried that the Income Support will stop and we'll be left with no money for four weeks until he gets his first lot of wages.

Can anyone help?

Em

dont tell IS until he actually starts incase it all falls through, it will stop straight away so you could be short of money until your hubbie gets paid but his new company might give him an advance.

You let them know on the day he starts, on the day he starts phone tax credits and housing benefit dept, too. I'm not sure whether you would get it but ask about housing benefit run on.
