Flow Energy - You have to laugh !

Flow Energy came into the market early summer 2013 and I signed up for Dual Fuel in early July. It then took until January 2014 to convince them they were supplying my gas ! They finally accepted that and began adding gas usage to my monthly statements. The only issue with the statements then was that the statements were always wrong - using not only the wrong original readings but the current readings as well. I could go on and on and on. But this is just one example of their total unsuitability for being an energy provider.

This raises the question of just what do such Companies have to do to be allowed in ? Nothing is my guess.

To the best of my knowledge- and this may have changed recently but I doubt it - Flow stopped accepting new customers from August because they simply couldn't cope with all their problems. They were having big problems just setting up Direct Debits - mine came into being some 2 months after they said it would. Secondly their website didn't work for customers - impossible to access your account for several months after they started.

Of 6 emails I sent them in July and August - emails rather than phone because I wanted hard copies for reference - they only replied to one - and that was 6 weeks after I'd sent it.

I see they still find their way onto list of cheap suppliers - even on Martin's site today for heaven's sake. But I believe they will exit the market once their fixed deals run out at the end of August. At least that was the impression I got speaking to them about a month ago.

The reason I wanted my account sorting - despite the apparent fun of getting free gas - was that switching to a new supplier would be a complete mess if I hadn't. Flow have now told me I can switch without an Exit fee - the first positive thing I can say about the Company in the last 9 months.

One last comment - their website is extremely complimentary about their own Customer Service - saying it sets them apart from other Energy suppliers. Shame they employ people to work on a sinking ship.

I am just about at giving up point with Flow Energy - I have been with them since last August and I have yet to receive a correct statement (my gas was missed off for months too despite various phone calls & emails).
They asked for a meter reading in January so I supplied one but they said that it had not been put in exactly at the end of month - okay I say I will put a meter reading in at the end of the month. Again they can not work out my statement as I apparently should have put the reading in on 28th of the month (am not a mind reader, thought end of month meant the actual end of the month) so again I can not get an actual statement. My last payment is not showing on the last statement too.

They have now extended the Thames Tariff till Sept 2015 so it still works out the cheapest for me but just can not understand why they can not actually get one bill/statement correct. All I want to know is if I owe them or if they owe me. My statement in January showed an overpayment built up of £150+ my statement now states I owe them £6.

As soon as another supplier can compete with the price without an exit fee I am off
