This is a Slimming World Sweet Chilli Sauce I use (it's a Free sauce for SW but is also low calorie if youre calorie counting):
SW Thai Chilli Sauce
4 red chillies (or to your taste)
1/4 tsp salt (to your taste)
189ml white wine vinegar (you can use white vinegar if that's all you have)
8 tbsp sweetener
1) Deseed the chillies and chop them roughly. Blend them into a rough paste (use a hand blender or pestle/mortar) then put to one side for a min.
2) Add the vinegar, salt and sweetener to a pan and bring to the boil stirring constantly.
3) Once boiled, simmer until liquid starts to go thick then add the chilli paste and stir until combined. Remove from heat.
4) Add to chicken or whatever other food you fancy and enjoy!
You need to be careful when boiling it as once it thickens it disappears very quickly and you end up with not enough sauce - remove from heat as soon as the chilli paste has gone into the sauce then stir through your cooked chicken/quorn/prawns or whatever you're having with it and serve.

I have a good sauce to make with the stew/braising steak.
1 tin chopped tomatoes
1 stick celery chopped
2 carrots chopped
2 onion
2 cloves garlic
1 sprinkle mixed herbs
2 stock cubes
300ml hot water
salt/pepper
chopped onions and crush garlic in a pan (oven proof) and fry until soft,
put the onions and garlic to one side.
Brown and seal meat in the same pan, once browned put onions and garlic back into the pan, add herbs, tinned tomatoes, dissolved stock cubes, carrot and celery and bring to boil.
Once at boiling point transfer to oven and slow cook for 1-1.5 hours at 120(fan oven).
This makes a lovely sauce and meal.0 -

Mix diced chicken (or substitute) with a crush clove of garlic, chopped peppers and sugar snap peas (I have used fresh green beans before), the contents of a small drained can of pineapple chunks , 3 tbs of malt vinegar, 3 tbs dark muscavado sugar and 9tbs of tomato sauce
Fry of until the chicken is cooker and the veg softened. Serve with rice or chips. Job done.
I made this today and I would say it does work out cheaper. I normally buy sweet and sour sauce on offer usually for no less than £1. I don't know the exact cost because again I had all the ingredients except pineapple in. I bought a large tin of value pineapple for 23p. So I used 300g Quorn and double the quantities of the sauce. I added 1 onion some broccoli, carrot, sweetcorn and 2 peppers. I only had demerera sugar and I only added 3 tbs as it just seemed a lot. This made 8 generous portions compared to a jar making 4.
I served it with egg fried rice (had an egg to use up - with spring onions and peas)
It was delicious!
I went to make a honey and mustard sauce but realised someone had ate all the mustard!!0
