My Dad had a heartattack back in December, He's self employed and has been left unable to work for a while due to some complications. He returned to work in Feb but took ill as a direct result of the heart attack and the Dr's have said not to return to work for a couple of months.
My question is, would be entitled to any help with him being self employed? As they are now having relying on my mums part time wages. How would he go about applying?
Thanks.

If he has paid sufficient class 2 NI contributions then he can claim contribution based ESA which is not means tested.
See here for how to apply:

Hi, my mum is contracted to 16 hours but usually works around 24.
I'm pretty sure he pays NI contributions, thanks, I'll look into ESA.
