MCE are not particularly great, so don't think you will be immune to ridiculous admin fees and poor service there.
My understanding is that MCE have managed to annoy pretty much every UK based underwriter that there is and have had to resort to using some Danish based underwriters call Alpha. This was because they had a delegated level of underwriting from the UK lot and essentially put any old scrote on cover for a low premium, then got bitten with some really big claims which the underwriters shat themselves over.
Trust me, you could do better than MCE (who are a broker)0
