EDF Problem!! - Currently paying Two Energy Cos for same Metered Supply
Options
I'm having a problem with EDF after recently switching over to Daligas. I have been supplied by Daligas for the last few weeks. However, EDF will not close my account nor suspend the direct debit. They maintain that they have not heard from Daligas re the switch. Daligas are adamant in their own words "that we cannot complete the switching unless we get the approval from the previous supplier so under no circumstances is the previous supplier not informed of the switching".
The MPRN number for my meter is the same for both suppliers.
The national meter database confirms that I am being supplied by Daligas (this was checked by EDF themselves!).
So who is telling porkies??? Has anyone else had this experience? I just do not want to be paying two different energy companies for the same supply! Should I just cancel my direct debit to EDF and just pay a one off sum when/if they have this setteled?

get your new supplier to send a clossing readDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

First off you need to speak to EDF and ask them to check who is supplying you via the Transco database. If it is not them, ask them to cancel the Direct Debit. If they won't, cancel it at the bank.0 -

Talk to EDF again, once you have calmed down
If, as you say, EDF have confirmed they no longer supply you, I can't see any reason why they would want to continue collecting money from you (unless you are in debt and/or have not supplied an actuial reading for a long time)
If you are still not happy with the explanation, inform EDF of your intention to cancel the DD direct with your bank and start an official complaint with EDF.0 -
