Self Assesment Form

About three month ago, I signed up for self assessment for the first time. I noticed yesterday that my sister has already had her self assessment form, but I haven't had mine, or had much in the way from HMRC regarding it, only a certificate to not pay extra NI.
I have no idea what my tax reference code is, do you think I should wait a few weeks and see if anything turns up, or contact HMRC to ask them if everything is ok.
Thanks

are you wanting the paper version rather than filing online? I'm pretty sure they are sent out in batches, could be alphabetical order of surname so I'd give it a few weeks yet.
Your tax reference will be on anything from HMRC (old IR), Notice of Coding for instance, and could/should also be on payslips / P60 / P45 etc.The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
Assuming, this is the first time you have registered as self-employed, you should have got your UTR number by now. There should be a letter with the ref and, if applicable, a letter re NI.
You still have until end of Oct to file a paper return and end of Jan 15 to file online. If you register to file online, you will only get a Notice to File and no paper return. I prefer filing online as it is automated and instant, no waiting and no chasing, plus you get your refund very quickly!
Good luck0 -
ok I think I will have to ring them up then, I don't remember ever getting any paperwork with a tax reference number on. The only thing I got was a NI Exemption Certificate which I checked and it doesn't have any ref. no, on it.0
