Paid with a closed credit card

So I just bought a kindle book with 'one click', and thought I'd check which card was registered to amazon. Turns out to be the infamous Aqua Reward that most of you will be familiar with. For those who've missed it, the card was closed for all customers (if they didn't downgrade, which I didn't) on 22nd January, and people on here have said that even recurring payments have been automatically stopped.

The book was £0.77, so I'm curious to find out what will happen. I know that purchases charged to a card after closure can reopen the account, because it was only 'soft closed' to catch transactions not processed before the date of closure, but I was under the impression that Aqua had a complete ban on transactions after 22nd Jan. Will this payment re-open the account?

Does the size of the payment make a difference? I've heard of the concept where cc bills for under £1 are written off as it costs more to produce the statement and collect payment, so would Aqua do that? Or would amazon write it off if the payment was rejected as it's so small? Or will I get an email soon asking for alternative payment method?

I'm not trying to get out of paying (I think I can afford 77p lol), I'm just curious!

I imagine that aqua will reject the payment and you will then hearfrom Amazon.

The value will mean that it is probably an under-floor transaction - ie Amazon didn't seek authorisation from aqua before accepting the payment, because ofthe low value. But when it reaches aqua, their systems should reject it as invalid.
