This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them.
Now light, dry underfoot with wispy clouds and some brightness in the sky so hoping for another decent day. Washing to go out on the line in a mo.
DH up and getting ready for work still has a cold and being a man baby.
Dinner last night was lamb casserole, mash and veg, all eaten and enjoyed. DS1 had a night time driving licence, so had his dinner early before his lesson. I managed to save a portion too, so that’s safely in the freezer. Tonight will be HM lasagne, chips/salad.
DS2 home all safe and they got back earlier than anticipated, he had an excellent time and really enjoyed it – so it was well worth the saving and paying for it as he’s had some great experiences and made some good memories.
Work was reasonably busy yesterday morning, so was kept quite busy. Got normal jobs done when I got home and had a nice surprise as had a letter from insurance company who have at last settled the claim from the bump I had in my car last June. The other driver tried to say it was my fault and it was a 50/50 – eventually the companies have come to some agreement so the cheque was a refund of half my excess that I had paid. Nice as it was unexpected.
My car goes for service and MOT today – so will be taking it first thing as some of the roads that way are closed and the diversion is a complete nightmare. Will then crack on with all the normal chores, have got quite a pile of ironing – I’ve been getting a good line full of washing dry on the line each day as the weather here has been dry and blowy. Will get the boys to run the hoover over their bedrooms and the landing.
I will just crack on with getting chores done at a steady pace.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Read yesterday but didn't get a chance to post. Had to be up early as Argoos text the night before to say that the shed would be delivered between 7 and 9am and they would phone about an hour before. That meant they could phone about 6!! Anyway, they phoned about 7 and delivered at half past. Great really as I didn't have to wait in for them but oh so early!!
Went shopping to L!dl as I had friends coming for lunch and I like some of their cold meat and olives. Good to catch up with friends without rushing. Made a vat of leek and potato soup which the builders enjoyed, have some left for DD tomorrow for her lunch.
Finished building up the furniture for the bedroom so will get that tidied away this morning. Need to go to C0stco today and then the hospice this afternoon.
Had a lovely piece of salmon for tea yesterday with veg, not sure what to do for tonight.
Moorhen - Thanks for asking, I was a lot better yesterday and completely fine by about 10am.
Molly - Good to hear from you, get well soon.
JackieO - Hope you're ok.
HH - Hope DD recovers quickly.
Hugs to anyone wanting one, enjoy your day. Take care. XX0 -

No other plans today. Might do some more baking. Made 3 cakes yesterday, 2 were for H to take to work for birthday treats. Hope they like themonly cinnamon sponge and chocolate sponge with vanilla icing.
Not sure what's for dinner. Will check the planner later.
I suppose I ought to jump in the shower.
Hugs and spoons all round xI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning everyone,
Bitsy DS is off pretending to do experiments in the garage. That sounds a little scary!
Molly, JackieO Lots of well wishes for you and for your DD Hester.
Foreversaving I think I had a very similar day to you yesterday, pottered in the garden, cut the lawn, got two loads of washing dry!
LW Hope that you managed to clean the princesses' green paws!
Quiet day today, meeting a friend for coffee, trying to think of something new to cook for tea.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -

[strike]1. Vacuum upstairs[/strike]
[strike]2. Vacuum stairs[/strike]
3. Vacuum downstairs
[strike]Kitchen floor[/strike]
[strike]3. Phone the retirement home Mom is in to check she's got no appointments and go and see her before her dinner[/strike]
4. Tea - Chilli (rice for me and 'Youngest' and mash for hubby *groan*.
Not sure i'll be fit for anything by the time I get back from seeing Mom as the walk back kills me but at least i'll get my daily exercise
Eldest sons birthday today. He is 33.
Thinking of Molly and JackieO still. Lovely to see you posting Molly yesterday and JackieO I am hoping your not too sore though I'm sure your new boobs will be worth it. Talking about boobs, got my all clear from the hospital yesterday from my mammogram. Not that I was particularly worried as theres no family history and not had much use in the last 50 years (I was never a great fan of breastfeeding and they rarely see the light of day).... I think I ought to quit whilst I am ahead on the subject.:o
Onwards and forwards,

Morning all,
Lovely sunny day here so had a nice walk with Lyla. She's had a cut on her pad so we didnt go out at all for a couple of days last week and this week the briefest really but its nearly healed now and she's not limping anymore.
Want to get tea organised as the DGC are coming, baby is staying over tonight as his mummy is on a course tomorrow with an early start. The doc is wondering if he has a milk allergy as he keeps bringing his feeds back up and he is a nightmare to feed,so they tried some prescription stuff, omg it tastes absolutely vileDS was the same though when he was a baby,it was a standing joke at the mum & toddler group we went to that if you had a cuddle you ended up with babysick on your shoulder :rotfl:and he went onto soya when he was a toddler.
Had someone viewing the house yesterday,he asked lots of questions and wrote on his clipboard but I got no inkling as to whether he liked it or not- cards close to the chest! The EA accompanied him but she arrived later than him and hadnt been before so that was a bit of a waste of time.Anyway the house is spotless so I can have an easy day today
Good recovery wishes to Jackie and Molly
