extracting a credit balance from my CC

Sorry if this is a dim question.

I have overpaid (long story) off my MBNA card. It's 0% period has now come to an end. It is £25 IN credit.

How do I remove this (without spending of course)

Comments

  • Write to close the account and request full payment of the outstanding amount as a cheque - after all it's what they'd request of you if it was a debit balance.

Failing that there must be something that you'd ordinarily spend £25 on that you could spend to wipe it out. PAYG top-up? Food ? Petrol ? I know I've previously paid for food up to £x in cash and put the rest on the debit card - no reason not to for a CC

I've overpaid MBNA in the past - mainly because they drew the DD after I'd paid off the balance in full. They were quite happy to transfer the credit balance to my bank a/c by BACS at no charge. Ask them.

I have had same experience as Johnlew. A quick call and the money was repaid in a few days. :)
