What height for mosaic tiles?

I'm soon to fit my new bathroom but am curious as to what height I should put the horizontal mosaic strips.
Should it be the middle of the wall, but if it clashes with the window should it be above the sill, or below, or should it be a little bit higher, perhaps the middle between the top of the bath and the ceiling?
I really don't want to get this wrong.
Also, my bathroom isn't massive, barely 2m x 2m. The tiles I'm looking at are 45x30. Would they work if I laid them long ways to make the room look slightly wider and longer?

I have just done my bathroom and had the same dilemma.
The tiles I picked were about the same size as yours and I had them going upright which seemed to work well. Having them as you suggested would have made my bathroom seem smaller I think. Short and squat for want of a better description.
With regard to the mosaic border - I went for about 3/4 of the way up - about eye level. I didn't want it any lower as it would have split the very small room in half and make it look smaller. Having them 3/4 of the way up draws your eyes up and works well. The way I did it appears to elongate the room and gives the illusion of space.Smoke Free since 1 January 20130 -

It depends on what looks right in your room.
Cut a strip of paper the width of your mosaic strip and blu-tak it to the wall - try a few different options - you'll soon see what looks best.
Try to go for a height that reduces the amount of tile cutting required.0 -

I like the idea of having them higher, sounds good.
I assumed the tiles would have a similar effect to hoops and stripes on clothing. :undecided0 -
Does anyone else have any ideas/suggestions? :undecided0

Fit them where suits the main field tiles the best. There is no set heightHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0

Don't forget to factor in the placement of your main tiles, you don't want tiny strips of tile at the top and bottom of the room because set your mosaics at an awkward height0
