Comparing houses

I am in the process of buying this house: http://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/30759842?search_identifier=e691527fd1fc6ac55b877d7892006bdc (terraced house). I had a text about the following house this morning: http://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/32053056?search_identifier=7a4b77171f60a00e86145ba409fa0f29 (semi detached) from another estate agent. They are both on the same estate and are very close to one another.
I am interested to here other peoples views on these properties. I am a single person and my plan is eventually to rent the property I buy out (probably in a few years) and perhaps buy an apartment for myself.
The property I am buying is a three storey house, whereas the other property is two storey. It is interesting that the property next door to the three storey sold for just 140000 last year and the property next door to the other sold for 150000 last year (almost the same month). This is making me think that the other property is priced more reasonably. Also the other property is on a quiet street whereas the property I am buying is on the main estate road (not a main road per se however road users use the road to avoid traffic lights on the main road). I prefer the house I am buying but I do not want to overpay.

Is the first one a mid-terrace? Otherwise it does seem to be bigger with a bigger garden, although it's hard to tell without a floor plan.0

Well, you could try ringing up the agent and say you have changed your mind and reduce your offer and see what happens but obviously you risk losing the house when the vendor decides they don't want to deal with you and then that agent will probably not take any offer you make in the future on a different property seriously.
How long was it on the market for and is there a chain above the person you are buying off?0 -

There is no chain. It was on the market for fourteen weeks. Apparently there was an offer for what I offered after just two weeks, which was rejected at the time (I have the estate agents word). Do you think the two properties are worth similar amounts?0 -
What's Lincoln like to live in these days?
I grew up there and spent a few years living in the St Catherine's area before moving away in 2006, initially to Nottingham and thence Reading.
Wouldn't mind moving back to the Midlands eventually. It's a toss up between Lincoln or Nottingham. I'm more inclined to choose Nottingham, but my OH prefers Lincoln as she has family there.0 -

No idea what they are worth whatsoever. If you are unhappy with the price you have agreed then you can try and change it- but there is risk involved - that's all I was saying.0 -
