People shouldn't have to put up with harassment until they say stop, it should never get that far. Think some people would benefit from checking out the everyday sexism project.0

Said guy and I have now been married for four years.
Thats great hun :T and it looks like our new starter is full of confidence as he asked the big bosses daughter out on a date tomorrow after work and she said yesIt's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0 -

Thats not what I said. Harassment until they say stop.
What I said was, if someone was embarassed by the scenario outlined in the OP's post, it should stop.
At no point did I say people should have to put up with harassment till they say stop.
I was on the receiving end of a sexual assault in the workplace around 7 years ago. I know fine well what its like to be on the receiving end of serious unwanted attention.
But I think its unwise to assume every bit of workplace joking that centres on someone being attractive is necessarily harassment. That wont be the case.
Ive never harassed anyone in the workplace or anywhere else in my life and if I saw someone being harassed Id be the first person to step in and I have done.
But Ive also been in offices where people have slagged one another off about all sorts of subjects and the person on the receiving end has given back as good as they got and not been upset at all.
There are all sorts of possible workplace scenarios, they dont all have to be harassment just because someone comments that a workmate is attractive.0 -
