Do I have grounds for appeal?

Hi,
I got a parking ticket from the council (Camden). While looking for a parking space I drove on a street that had Pay and display on both sides of the rd, I found a space, parked and display a valid ticket. But it seems that where I parked it was a Residents only bay. I'm used to park around Islington, which displays signs when parking restrictions change from street to street. The worst is that I actually got out of the car to check, as there was a yellow parking restriction sign, not applicable to that day though. Do I have grounds to appeal at all?

You really need to post on https://www.pepipoo.com as they are the experts in council tickets.
FYI - I got a ticket in Brighton and Hove under exactly the same circumstances and ended up taking the appeal all the way ( despite bullying letters from the council ). I argued the signage and road markings didn't make it clear that it was a residents only spot. I won my appeal !"The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -
I have posted on pepipoo, will see what they say.
My concern is that my partner threw the ticket away, so I have no way of proving it, as the council photo is not closed enough to be legible.0
