Advice please, I think I'm owed money for not taking PPI

Options
Hello, I'd really appreciate some advice on a £5000 loan I took out with barclays over 5 years in 2007 and to wether I'd be entitled to some money back regards to PPI.

Ok so I took the loan out at an agreed interest rate say 10% for arguments sake, this loan came with a monthly charge on top for PPI, all the paperwork was done and I went away. Later on that day I decided I wasn't happy with the PPI charge and knew I had 28 days to change my mind and so I did, I asked them to put the loan through again without the PPI, this time the interest rate was higher by 5%. I stuck with this loan and paid it off until it was done, now it seems to me I was charged that extra 5% for 5 years because I didn't buy into an illegally sold scheme, am I due anything in compensation from the bank?

Thanks in advance
