If it makes you feel better Op then I have recently bought the smash box ones after everyone's raving and don't think much of it at all, my borjois happy lite one is much better!

I am looking a new primer as even though I want to buy the Smashbox one with brilliant reviews, currently my budget won't stretch to it!

Can anyone recommend a good one for under £10? My sky is combination, in that I get dry patches but my forehead is oily.

    Thanks!

I use the ELF mineral primer for special occasions/nights out. I'm not a heavy make up user, it's my first ever experience with primer and I have never tried Smashbox so I am not an expert but I'm happy with it. When I first ordered they only had the 'clear' stuff. Now they have several versions...http://eyeslipsface.co.uk/en/restofworld/primer/mineral-infused-face-primer/invt/83400
No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!

  • Superdrugs B primer is good as it both the accessorise (available from superdrug) and the GOSH primers. I think the GOSH one is just over a tenner but the others are around £7-9 ish. I have similar combination skin and the B primer from superdrug does a brill job on me. Their BB gream is also pretty good if you're a user of them!
Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!?

Thanks everyone :) I went with th eBody Shop one as the lure of 40% off was just too much. It's called Moisture It and so far, so good!

Since moving to a liquid foundations stopped using a primer but I rated boots 17 one , they've changed the range a bit now but worth a go, incidentally I loved the Smashbox one when I used to use it and found seventeen at the time resembled the texture.

  • Don't go by smashbox's online reviews, they had a competition a little while back for 100 tubs of primer to people that left a review on the site so 99% of people probably never tried it before the comp, i have tried it and wouldn't by it again, avons Magix is much better, i'm going to try MUAs next month but both are low priced so you could try them both and still be saving money x
