Different/same card question

I have 3 cards - Barclaycard, Virgin & Tesco which I have been successfully been using to pay each other off using 0%. I have just transferred some of the BC over to Virgin for 0% and have just cleared my Tesco card so effectively now owe around £9500 on the Virgin & £7000 on the BC (0% comes to an end in July).

What I want to know is would I be better closing the Tesco card and applying for another 0% or applying for another card anyway, keeping the Tesco to see if they offer a 0% deal (as Virgin seem to keep doing)

With that in mind I'm sure I've read that some people have 2 cards of the same type (eg. Barlaycard). Is this true and can you shift balances between the 2?

You can't move balances between cards of the same stable.

Whether you should close one card before applying for another depending on your income, limits and circumstances.

Income is £37,800. Barclaycard has £3000 left and Virgin is at the limit (after transferring part of the Barclaycard). As mentioned, I have just cleared the Tesco and now have £5000 available but no offer.

The reason I am asking is to investigate another card to transfer the Barclaycard to. Both BC and Virgin are periodically offering me 0% transfers for a year at a time and I can usually flip between the 2 but unfortunately the BC runs out in July hence the idea of another (4th) card. Looking on this site the Barclaycard looked good for a long term 0% deal but as you've pointed out I couldn't transfer from my existing BC so Nationwide looks like the next best.

Well, I applied for the Halifax BT card last night (30 months, 0%) and got accepted but with only a £1800 estimated limit. I assume this is because of the limits/balances on the other cards? Because of this I'll use the Halifax card to transfer some of my Barclaycard for now and then wait for a couple of months to see if my zero balance on the Tesco card prompts another offer - if not I'll cancel the Tesco card and try a limit increase request on the Halifax.

Does anybody know if Tesco offer subsequent 0% offers like Barclaycard & MBDA do?
