I often read "pay more than the minumum" on here but I have been stoozing for ten years and currently have stoozed debt worth over a third of my annual gross salary, I've never payed more than minimum monthly repayments by direct debit and never been turned down for credit.

Times change. Keep on eye on what the future holds do not focus on what happened in the past.

  • Hi there wondering I anyone can help,

My partner currently has a credit card, didnt pay 4 payments and now cannot receive another credit card. We were looking to transfer the balance as he is paying such high interest but obviously cant. I therefore looked into getting myself a credit card and transferring the balance, so this is what I did. Tescos at the time had the best deal got the card and then found in the small print that the transfer balance had to come from the primary cardholder or the Tescos credit card. Is there a way/card I can transfer his credit over to me?

    Thanks guys

Do the transfer online and don't volunteer the information. They will normally only ask for the 16-digit card number.

Hi Mrs T... Do you pay off your stoozing card before you apply for the next one? Or when you are applying, do you still have your stooze balance outstanding?

I never pay off balances, the game is to build up transferable balances and max the interest on the saved funds, another reason I only pay minimum monthly repayments.

My credit rating is all green, and score was good. with equifax, I fixed some electoral role information and after that the credit socre went to poor, dint chnage anything else except maybe few more companies may have done checks. If anything it should go up.

I been denied credit cards by barclays card, they said that my level of borrowing was high and credit report showed i did not manage my money well.... two points though. I dont want to borrow any more money from them, im doing a balance transfer to clear debts... secondly my credit rating is good, it shows all minimum payments made on time.. so how they concluded that is not understandable.

I will surely appeal against this.

But if you were accepted for a new card you may not use it to repay your existing debts or you may reuse the cleared card(s) for more spending, so your level of borrowing could increase if they offered you a new card with them. Also if they consider you potentially high risk then they would rather you owed money to a different bank not them.

Regularly paying just minimum payments on your card can be interpreted as a sign of struggling to afford to pay off any more.
