Paypal payment reversed but no reason

I had an incident where I sold a laptop on Ebay, the other people bought with speedy delivery requested and agreed. Positive feedback left etc. I then had funds frozen and in the end reversed in their favour but they had already been kicked off Ebay (don't know why). I did have item recorded delivery but lost the proof of postage thingy. Can anyone help with any advise? Was some time ago now but looking at this forum I thought I would ask.
Cheers

My guess would be it was a hacked account or a nicked credit card?0

Have you reported to the police? What was the reason given for Paypal (assumig it was Paypal) reversing the transaction?.0

The first email from paypal would have told you the reason. My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

If you sell a high value item, don't use paypal, it seems too easy for the payment to be reversed. The money, Dave...0 -
Normally if someone asks for quick delivery on a high value items it's because of a hacked account or stolen CC and they want the item before the seller finds out he/she's been screwed.0

Not if you are eligible for seller protection."There is a light that never goes out"0 -
I would never use paypal again! Its a total nightmare, ive had so many payments retured to buyers, its unreal! people have had the cheek to leave good feedback and then nick your money. Then it takes 6 months on the phone to paypal trying to find out why they took your money. You follow the guide lines by protecting yourself with proof of postage and thats still no good!
Just wrong how people like us get treated like the criminals, when its them robbing are things. paypal needs sort its fraud team out, thats if they have one, not like they dont have the funds, as that have taken all are!

There's your problem Cathy
Proof of posting IS no good. You need proof of DELIVERY ie. tracking number.
And a confirmed address as well.My TV is broken!

thats where you went wrong. always keep the recorded/speical delivery slips.
when the transaction was frozen, paypal would have given you the chance to enter the tracking ref the post office supplied you with, had you entered that where they asked and if you were elligible for seller protection for the transaction paypal would not have taken your funds away from you.
and how long ago did this all take place?0 -
Hi
Unfortunately it would seem you have become victim to a scammer, I had a similar incidence and PayPal and Ebay were no use at all!!! Contacted the police and give them credit, they did investigate but found that the address was occupied by a bunch of students from abroadl
Result £250 out of pocket!!! despite having certifate of postage, signed for on delivery etc.0
