This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Why is it I can sleep like a baby when I don't have to get up for work but then not sleep when I do? Oh well, am only in for 3 days this week, then I get another long weekend.
Diet went kaput yesterday with a cheap buffet lunch out
Not much else going on but will try and catch up with everyone's news later.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them.
Now light and bright with only a few wispy clouds so sun may make an appearance, wind has died away and doesn’t feel as cold today – hopefully a better day.
DH up and getting ready for work still has a cold but improving.
Dinner last night was fish, chips and beans for the menfolk. I had salmon and broccoli fishcakes, jacket potato and beans. The fishcakes were lovely – they were ready made but on offer so I thought I’d try them – definitely something to have in the freezer. Remembered to get the meat out to defrost – so that’s already in the slow cooker with the veg and gravy. Not exactly sure what time we will be eating tonight as DS2 is due back from his trip at around dinner time. So we’ll eat when we can.
Work again yesterday was another manic day until just before we closed – hoping today will be reasonably busy again – time flies by. Only working until lunchtime today – so then will come home and crack on with all the normal chores.
As work was so busy and my mind occupied my mood was ok yesterday but dipped a bit after I got home as didn’t keep busy pottering about at home – was so busy at work needed some chill time once I got home, this unfortunately allows my mind to wander and I go back down the CBA mood. Although I did manage to sleep better last night, but have woken early. Once I’ve finished work at lunchtime I have quite a list of chores to do as we’re away again this weekend and I have stuff to do between now and then, my car is going for a service and MOT tomorrow, and DS1 has his theory for his driving at the next town on Friday morning and I’m taking him – so I also need to visit the bank, do the food shopping and do all the washing, drying and ironing, packing, and housework and cooking between now and when we go on Friday. So plenty to get my teeth in to.
Spoke to the company that are dealing with our ppi claim, not sure we’re going to get anything – but have already had a good amount from a big company that actually wrote out to everyone that they identified from their own records that were mis-sold and we had that refund ages ago. I’m now in the process of trying for what else I’ve been mis-sold – hoping we may get something but trying not to get my hopes up.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all
Sunny here this morning, fish fed, hubby & I both have a cuppa.
I'm making no plans to get the sewing machine out today, I'm expecting to have the DGC for a while if DD2 is discharged from hospital. Hubby is working 2 'til 10 & I need to put petrol in the car.
I've listed a few more items to sell on eBay & still have 3 more items to list, I also found my Remoska recipe book so I've added that to the listing, I shall miss my Remoska if it sells, but I really need the room.
Hubby will have a full cooked breakfast when he gets up, his packup is already made & he won't eat when he gets in as it will be too late. It's all very chaotic for him at work with a team member leaving, still lets hope they get a replacement soon.
Hugs to Molly & JackieO, Have fun with the 'Princesses' LW
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all,
Popping out of lurkdom to say hello again.
I am thinking about a new income stream (posh term, eh?) as a theatre landlady. My first tenant is asleep upstairs in my son's former bedroom and so far appears the perfect tenant as he is out all day and only comes back to sleep. He eats out (despite having free run of the kitchen) and is very tidy. My friend suggested it as she has been doing it for some years. Our town's theatre is mainly tribute bands and one night wonders, but we do get several week long shows, so I think I'll ask to go onto the theatre's list.
Slimming World is going well, and I've lost 17lbs - weigh in tonight!
The sewing bug has bitten and I'm just finishing my second patchwork cot quilt - one was half done, the other was just a bundle of fabrics so I've cleared some space in my stash but want to buy more (blush).
Have a lovely day all xI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Hi everyone,
I didn't sleep well either NMLC, although I would quite happily have had a lie in but I have a Dr's appointment.
Not a lot else going on, I want to plan the meals for Easter weekend. We have DD's BF's mum and brother coming to Yorkshire to meet for the first time. They live in Glasgow so it's not that simple to meet.
Thoughts are with JO and Molly and I hope your DD is ok HH.0 -
Morning all,
Another one who didn't sleep well. My leg ached all night.
Luxor well done on the weight loss:j I've lost 7 so far in two weeks, weigh in tomorrow but it's been hard this week, will be very happy with a stay the same:D
I love your idea of being a theatre landlady
I'm off to Yorkshire to see mum and dad this afternoon, hubby is home at lunch, I just can't drive that far yet.
Hoping to pop to the charity shops this morning and the library.
We have friends coming for dinner on Saturday night so I need to think about the menu and try and stick to healthy recipes.
Onwards and upwards, have a good day xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning everyone,
Julie and Luxor Well done on the weight loss. I have lost 4lbs, only 7lbs to go.
Molly and JackieO Get well wishes.
LW Enjoy the princesses in the sunshine!
Hester Hope that you have a calmer day today.
Camelot How are you feeling this morning?
Off to town with DD1 on "search for the prom dress" part one! I am quite excited!
Sun is shining here at the moment, I even managed to wash my car yesterday although when I looked out of the bedroom window last night I realised that I hadn't been able to reach the top of the roof! I am 5ft 2!!

Morning all,
well the day hasn't started off too well.
"Mom wheres my spare bag? The bag I use for college has broke".
"You told me it was broke weeks ago why haven't you bought yourself a new one?... You mean the bag you said wasn't big enough and the handle had split.... where do you think it is?"
He's not in a good mood. Maybe if he got off his backside instead of playing computer games, or in bed with his girlfriend in his free time he wouldn't be without a bag. I'm not in a good mood because he's not at college. He's got to go to the shopping centre to buy a new one... that's if he gets off the pc.
Thinking positively, Millie dog didn't get me up in the night and the sun is shining.
Thinking of Molly and JackieO

Good morning all,
Beautiful day here again. Washing is out with another load in the machine.
Not doing too much today, feel a bit out of sorts. Can't put my finger on why, just having a grumpy day i guess.
Luxor and Julie, well done on the weight loss.
Jackie and Molly, get well wishes for you both.
Tea tonight is quite possibly a take away. We were going to be having one on dd's birthday but we were all ill so it was put on hold for another day.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning Everyone :hello:
((hugs)) to Molly & JackieO.
Luxor & Julie - fantasitc weight loss success :T
Judi - sounds like a cup of tea is in order, hope the day improves
Well the weather is dry and a lilttle overcast here, but better than yesterday. Got the mince out the freezer before work so I can do Chilli and rice for tea. Also got some mini chicken fillets out so I can do these for OH's sandwiches tomorrow - these were the bargin one's from bargin chicken place the other week. Which for the portion I will be cooking works to a grand total of 37p and will do him 2 days sandwichs :j
Popping to my auntie's after work to take back my cousin's dress I borrowed and take her the scarf I brought to say thank you - she doesn't know this yet.
OH and me are both ready for an early night tonight, I struggled getting up at 7am and he looked very sleepy at 4.30am this morning:eek: So will be tea and bed tonight I think.
Need to go and get some more wool this week/weekend so that I can do some more arm knit scarves to go in to the collection for Christmas. I only actually need 6 scarves for gifts but I can see I will be having more for myself and might do some to sell as gifts.
Just need to decide on which colours for people.
Steady day as is normal at work these days but will have a busy day tomorrow & Friday as lots of paperwork to do and we have two holiday cottages to clean Friday ready for new guest's coming.
Have a lovely day all, will pop back later.
Happy Wednesday :jChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
