Hi I bought an airport time capsule at the end of last year and had it set up added to my then sky network and noticed a better connection in my bedroom which is quite a distance away from the main router.
In Feb this year I switched to plus net and forgot all about the ATC, but having noticed a difference in the signal in the bedroom it dawned on me today that I never changed the settings on the ATC for the new broadband.
On opening the Airport utility there was no ATC present so after a bit of research I decided to do a reset. That went ok and I was able to access it under other wi fi devices. So on the options I select to add to an existing network. It then goes back to this airport time capsule will set up a new network, and I must have tried it and reset it 20 times and I cannot get it to give me the option to add it to my existing network.
Before I throw it through the window I'm going to call it a night now (2.15 am!!) but if anyone can spot what I'm doing wrong or give me a helping hand I'd be very grateful. Thanks.

Are you trying to connect wireless?
Try resetting it (push the reset button in with a pin whilst booting up) then connecting it wired to your router and set it up as a new time capsule but don't format it, then once working you can use the utility to switch back to wireless.
Had a few problems with mine initially and that's how i sorted it!0 -
Where is the Time Capsule? Is it next to the router or in another room?
I use my plus.net "router" simply as a modem and use the TC to create the network0 -

Thanks, thats what I was trying to do (reset) but without connecting to router as my macbook air only has usb connection. I need to get a usb ethernet adapter. But I got the impression it wasn't working because I wasn't already connected to a network!!!
InsideInsurance thanks for the reply. I wanted to use it to extend the network as opposed to replacing it.0
